Luc Mullinder is here with his three keys to the game. Get the Roughriders Game Day special: $4.95 for a Big Crunch and $7.95 for a Big Crunch combo at participating Saskatchewan KFC locations.
The first key, I think, is to stop the big play. Bo Levi Mitchell is going to get his yards. Now, the big play is anything over 20 yards. He's going to look deep for Kenny Lawler eventually. I think that in the past, especially as of late, if you take away Bo Levi Mitchell's first five to six yards and force him to throw, that's where you're going to end up with potential turnovers. But again, you have to limit that big play. So he can throw long, but he can't connect with it. So you've got to eliminate the big play.
Number two, you've got to play a disciplined brand of football today. OK, Hamilton had nine penalties for 75 yards last week. Saskatchewan only had five penalties, but they were for 85 yards. That needs to be cut down significantly today. Again, this is a tough, tough place to play.
Lastly, you have to win the turnover battle today. Last week, we did not win the turnover battle. This week, we must win the turnover battle to put ourselves in a position for victory. So let's eliminate the big play, or at least win that category. Let's play disciplined football and ensure we win the turnover battle. Tips and overthrows lead to money.
That's Luc Mullinder's three keys to the game.
