ASSINIBOIA — Senior men’s hockey season is about to start and the reigning Notekeu league champions are ready to defend their title.

The team released its 2025–26 roster on its social media page over Thanksgiving weekend. Preparations for the new season have begun.

A spokesperson for the Sr. Rebels said, “Senior Rebels basically have [the] same team other than a couple rookies added for this season.”

The team affirmed that fundraising is a vital part of its operations. The men’s hockey club is grateful for the tremendous support from local businesses. Combined with fundraising efforts, this helps offset costs for ice time, on-ice officials, Hockey Sask fees and other expenses incurred during the season.

“As for the on-ice success, it's a dedicated on-ice product year after year with the odd addition, as we do get the odd Jr Rebels player that [has] exhausted their Jr eligibility.”

You can follow the schedule for the Rebels’ season on the Notekeu league website, the team’s social media pages and the TVs at the rink.
