Invermay athletes win medals at districts, provincials next

The Invermay track-and-field team earned 24 medals and 31 top-eight placements at districts in Yorkton.

INVERMAY- “We had one of our best ECDAA District meets.”

At districts on May 27-28, Coach Kent Seerey said Invermay student/athletes earned 24 medals, including eight athletes that qualified for provincials.

“We had 31 top eight placements,” said Seerey, “and I credit our success to a great group of athletes that have created a dedicated culture, which is supported by our entire staff and community.”

The results from districts are as follows.

Peewee girls

Brielle Enge finished fourth in both the triple jump and the high jump.

Peewee boys

Bennett Carlson finished seventh in discus.

Bantam girls

Hanna Enge won gold medals in javelin and hurdles, and placed fifth in triple jump, and seventh in long jump.

Caidence Keller was a three-time bronze medalist in shot put, javelin, and discus.

Olivia Pylypchuk placed fifth in the 400m, sixth in high jump, seventh in 200m and eighth in the 100m.

Bantam boys

Weston Glas won gold in hurdles, bronze in javelin and discus, and fourth in the shot put.

Carson Wood place fifth in shot put and sixth in javelin.

Intermediate girls

Jasmin Kowalyshyn took the silver medal in high jump.

Addison Enge won silver in the triple jump.

Cassidy Bosovich won silver in javelin, as did Addison Enge in the triple jump.

Jazmari Lucas finished eighth in the discus.

Intermediate boys

Michael Mesias won gold medals in javelin and long jump.

Kyle Pena won a bronze medal in shot put, and finished sixth in javelin and seventh in discus.

Kashton Maclean placed sixth in discus, seventh in javelin, and eighth in both triple jump and shot put.

Junior girls

Taelynn Maier won gold in discus.

In javelin, Madeline Graham took the bronze medal.

Halo Engele finished fourth in discus and shot put, and seventh in javelin.

Junior boys

Angelo Ferenal won bronze medals in hurdles, triple jump and javelin.

Senior girls

Bailey Maier won gold medals in high jump and javelin.

April Grychowski took the silver in javelin.

Tyla Dubas earned the bronze medal in discus, placed fifth in shot put and sixth in javelin.

Senior boys

Lance Corpuz won the bronze medal in shot put, and finished fourth in discus.

Cassidy Bosovich – intermediate girls javelin

Addison Enge – intermediate girls triple jump

Michael Mesias – intermediate boys javelin and long jump

Angelo Ferenal – junior boys hurdles, triple jump and javelin

Taelynn Maier – junior girls discus

April Grychowski – senior girls javelin

Bailey Maier – senior girls high jump and javelin

Track-and-field provincials are set for Moose Jaw on June 6-7.
