Invermay athletes shine at first meet of season

Thanks to their success at Pre-Districts, 29 athletes from Invermay School advanced to districts on May 27 and 28.

INVERMAY - Student athletes from Invermay School brought home many top-ten finishes at track-and-field Pre-Districts in Yorkton, with 29 advancing to districts on May 27 and 28.

Peewee boys

Morgan Graham finished first in the long jump at 6.25m and second in discus with a throw of 15.95 m. In the 800m, Graham placed third in three minutes, 28.15 seconds, and also competed in the long jump.

Bennett Carlson finished first in peewee boys shot put at 6.82m, first in discus with a throw of 16.25m, and also competed in the long jump.

Carlos Garcia competed in the 100m and the long jump.

Peewee girls

Brielle Enge placed second in triple jump (7.33m) and second in high jump (1.34m).

Competing in the 100m were: Thea Barcelona, Princess Corpuz, Brielle Enge, Jessica Ke and Keith Ferenal. Ke, Ferenal and Paisley Bosovich also competed in the 200m.

Competing in long jump were: Thea Barcelona Princess Corpuz, Briella Enge, Lexi Grona, Jessica Ke, Paisley Bosovich, and Keith Ferenal. Bosovich also competed in triple jump.

Princess Corpuz and Lexi Grona each competed in shot put and discus.

Bantam boys

George Hilario placed second in the 100m with a time of 14.38 seconds.

Weston Glas finished second in hurdles (15.07) and also competed in the javelin. Carson Wood competed in the javelin as well.

Bantam girls

Hannah Enge won four gold medals; taking first place in the hurdles in 16.81 seconds, the long jump at 3.99mm, the triple jump (7.15m) and the javelin (18.7m).

Olivia Pylypchuk-Dyck was first in the 100m with a time of 14.5 seconds, second in the 200m (31.13) and the 400m (1:15.38) and also competed in the high jump.

Caidence Keller won discus at 23.14m and was second in the shot put. (7.2m) and second in javelin (16.7m).

Intermediate boys

Josh Jamilo was second in the 100m at 12.47 seconds and in the 400m (1:09.85), third in the 200m (28s) and competed in the long jump.

Michael Mesias was first in the long  jump (5.32m), first in javelin (36.3m), placed second in the 200m (26.41s) and third in the 100m (12.6s).

Kashton MacLean finished second in the triple jump at 6.34m, second in the discus (26.1m), third in the shot put (9.12m) and also competed in the javelin.

Kyle Pena won the discus with a throw of 31.22m, was third in javelin (25.2m) and also competed in the shot put.

Intermediate girls

Addison Enge finished second in the 200m with a time of 31.15 seconds, second in long jump (4.2m) and second in triple jump (8.3m).

Jasmin Kowalyshyn finished first in high jump, clearing 1.35m. She also competed in the long jump and the triple jump.

Cassidy Bosovich finished first in javelin with a throw of 27.3m. Bosovich and Jazman Lucas each competed in the shot put and the discus. Lucas also competed in the javelin.

Junior boys

Angelo Ferenal won the hurdles in a time of 17.97 seconds, was second in triple jump (9.51m) and javelin (27.9m) and also competed in the long jump.

Junior girls

Madeline Graham won the 100m in 15.78 seconds and was third in discus at 17.82m and third in javelin (15.4m).

Taelynn Maier placed second in discus with a throw of 23.86m and second in javelin (17.4m). Halo Enge competed in discus and javelin.

Senior Boys

Lance Corpuz won senior boys shot put with a throw of 10.42m and javelin with a throw of 40 metres. He also competed in discus.

Senior Girls

Bailey Maier won the high jump by clearing 1.47m, was first in javelin (27.3m) and also competed in the discus.

Clouie Cabungcal placed third in hurdles with a time 17.44 seconds and also competed in long jump and triple jump.

April Grychowski finished second in long jump with a leap of 4.26m, second in triple jump (8.97m) and second in javelin (23m).

Tyla Dubas was second in discus at 24.45m, third in javelin (19.8m) and competed in the shot put.
