The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League is only a couple weeks into the season, but clear trends are starting to emerge. Week 3 of the Power Rankings sees the Flin Flon Bombers holding firm at the top, while several teams made moves that could shape the months ahead.

The Bombers remain unbeaten, continuing to overwhelm opponents with both firepower and stingy defense. In their last three games, they’ve allowed only a single goal per night while piling up shots at a staggering pace.

Not far behind are the Humboldt Broncos, who entered the national rankings at No. 2 last week. Humboldt showed its resilience in a busy stretch, winning two of three games over four days.

Weyburn rounds out the top three after responding to a midweek loss in Humboldt with back-to-back victories over Estevan. When the Red Wings are at their best, they look every bit a contender, though consistency remains the focus moving forward.

Melfort sits fourth after a strong showing against La Ronge, followed by a shootout thriller in Flin Flon that some are already calling the game of the year. Meanwhile, Kindersley cracked the top five thanks to a come-from-behind win over Humboldt that underscored their depth and determination.

The Nipawin Hawks and Battlefords North Stars land in the middle of the pack. Nipawin’s limited schedule has made them hard to gauge, though their talent is evident, while Battlefords showed flashes in their win over Warman.

Melville slid to eighth after three straight losses, though all came by narrow margins. With WHL forward Kale Margolis joining the fold, Head Coach Doug Johnson believes better days are ahead.

Yorkton, Estevan, Warman, and La Ronge round out the rankings, with each team showing competitiveness but still searching for consistency in the early going.
