Estevan Bruins and Kindersley Klippers take centre stage in SJHL weekly awards

The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League has announced its weekly award winners. Estevan Bruins forward Ewan Rennie earned SGEU MVP of the Week after posting his first SJHL hat trick and four straight multi-point games.

The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League has announced its weekly award winners.

Estevan Bruins forward Ewan Rennie earned SGEU MVP of the Week after posting his first SJHL hat trick and four straight multi-point games. He now leads the league with 21 points. Bruins rookie goalie Brady Carr was named SaskMilk Rookie of the Week, allowing just one goal in a win over Nipawin.

Kindersley Klippers forward Avery Johnson took Forward of the Week honours with four goals and seven points in four games, while teammate Russ Demo claimed Defenceman of the Week after an eight-point stretch that helped the Klippers break into the national rankings.

In Weyburn, Preston Patenaude stopped 67 shots over two wins to secure SaskTel Goalie of the Week.

Yorkton Terriers forward Thomas Ries rounded out the honours as Canterra Seeds Saskatchewan Player of the Week, tallying four points and strong two-way play in wins over Melfort and Flin Flon.
