The Regina Thunder dominated the Edmonton Huskies 57-7 in their home opener on Sunday afternoon at Leibel Field. The win improved the Thunder to a Prairie Football Conference best 3-0 entering the Labour Day weekend bye week.
The Thunder offence moved the ball seemingly at will, generating 492 net yards, including 298 along the ground, in the victory.
Carter Ashman led the team in rushing with 117 yards and a touchdown, while Peter Boersch added 116 yards and a touchdown.
Quarterback Adam Mosher was 10-of-18 passing for 152 yards and three touchdowns, while Jayden Zelionka was 5-for-5 for 42 yards. Mosher and Zelionka used nine different receivers in the Thunder passing attack.
In the meantime, Lucas DI Iorio was the top Thunder receiver, scoring three catches for 62 yards and a touchdown.
Defensively, the Thunder held the Huskies to just 94 net yards and a late fourth-quarter touchdown while adding a pair of sacks and two tackles for losses.
Linebacker Zach Cloutier contributed three defensive tackles, two assists and a tackle for a loss, while linebacker Kenten Effa chipped in two tackles and two assists.
Defensive back Jake Mayo had two defensive tackles, two special team tackles and the game's only interception.
The Thunder are off until Saturday, September 7th, when they host the Saskatoon Hilltops at Mosaic Stadium. Kickoff will be at 7 p.m.

In Saskatoon, the Hilltops handed the Winnipeg Rifles their first loss of the season, 42-15. Meanwhile, Calgary picked up its first win of the season, 19-15, over the Edmonton Wildcats, whose record fell to 0-3.
