The Saskatchewan Roughriders' training camp is winding down. According to head coach Corey Mace, several roster spots were still up for grabs. One position to watch is quarterback. Trevor Harris, Jake Mayer, Jack Cone, and Tommy Stevens are all vying for roster spots.

Stevens became a short-yardage specialist in Calgary, but when he signed with the Green and White, he emphasized that he can throw the ball, too. On the SportsCage, he discussed his progress within Mark Mueller's offence.

"Obviously, it's going to take some, I guess what we like to call growing pains, because it's been a while. I haven't spent a lot of time running the offence, even though I've been in it for four years now. It's obviously a little bit different when you're actually running it. There have been a couple of practices where you unfortunately throw the ball right to the other team, and you kind of just have to go through that kind of stuff, but it's good to get those things out of the way and learn from them. All in all, I think that it's been a really productive camp. I think it's been my favourite camp so far in the CFL, and I feel like I've grown a lot from it so far."
