The Saskatchewan Roughriders extended the contracts of head coach Corey Mace and Vice President of Football Operations and General Manager Jeremy O’Day through the 2028 season this week.

Legendary Riders quarterback Darian Durant is proud of his former teammate, O’Day, especially given the scrutiny of the position.

"When you've gone through it as a player, you have a good feel for how the fans are and how everything runs in Saskatchewan. You understand the amount of pressure that's on you as a representative of the province."

Durant added, “He's been through it, and to have his head being called for a few years ago, people wanting to run him out of town, saying that he's not worthy of the job, that he was just handed the job. I'm glad that he was given the opportunity to show what he could do with his guys. He has his guys in there now, and he's showing that once you give him full rein and he can do things in his way, he's worth every dollar he's getting in his extension. Congratulations to Jeremy, it is well-deserved."
