Training camps are over in the Canadian Football League as all nine teams have made their moves to comply with the CFL's 45-player roster limit. It may look like just a name on a piece of paper to some, but the human element makes it much more than that for coaches, football operations staff, and teammates.

Legendary quarterback Darian Durant appeared on the SportsCage and reflected on some of the tough cuts he faced throughout his career.

“If you think back to our two Grey Cup runs in 2009 and 2010, going into 11, 12, and 13, we started getting rid of some guys that were just dear friends of mine. Not only that, just Hall of Fame guys and Plaza of Honour guys. Lance Frazier, that was a tough call to see him go. Tad Kornegay, it was tough to see him go. Wes Cates, for sure, seeing Wes leave was definitely tough. My guy Luke Mullinder, just seeing that happen to Luke, it's just devastating. You build so many bonds with these guys, man. You know it's gonna happen, but when it happens to the guys you're close to, it's devastating.”
