This is Between the Lines, and the answer is that all ventured into broadcasting once their playing career was over. They’re not alone, Saskatchewan Roughriders 38-year-old quarterback Trevor Harris knows that he can’t play forever but when his playing days are over, he has thought about coaching or, as he told the SportsCage, even trying his hand at broadcasting.
“I can see myself calling games. You know, getting my Glenn suitor on. Being up there in the booth and calling games would be tons of fun. So, if y'all at TSN, need somebody in a couple years, maybe a year or two, five, whatever it is, give me a call. Let me get an interview.”
Harris knows he isn’t the only current quarterback looking for screen time. Bo Levi Mitchell has joined the panel during Grey Cup week on television, but that doesn’t faze Harris.
“I've played in more systems than him, unfortunately. I've played in all the systems, so I can tell you what all quarterbacks are trying to look at and what they should have done. So maybe I'd be all right at it but Bo would do a great job as well. He's in a good situation there with Scott in Hamilton. Shoot, you never know. He could play a long time still but, yeah, we'll see how it goes, just one year at a time.”
