There were a record 34,234 fans inside Mosaic Stadium for the 60th Labour Day Classic on Sunday. AND with all due respect to Bombers fans in attendance, the majority went away happy after a 34-30 Roughriders win.
Saskatchewan rookie running back Mario Andeson Jr. made magic on Labour Day, scoring the first two touchdowns of his career in the win.
“Just being able to have Coach Mueller and the offensive guys trust me to go out there and make a play. We ran an outside zone. I followed Brammer to the end zone; he had a lead block, and, you know, the rest was the rest after that.”
Anderson shared his touchdown celebration with the offensive line, a group he is happy to work with.
“I feel as though our team chemistry, the chemistry that we have as a unit together, is unbreakable. The bond, love those guys to death. I'd do anything for those guys. I appreciate them going hard every single day.”
Anderson had to share his love with the fans in the stands.
“Thank y'all for coming out and showing out. We appreciate y'all for this province and team and thank y'all so much.”
The Riders will now head to Winnipeg for the rematch on Saturday.
