Regina Pats' forward Liam Pue has had a hectic schedule while he's getting acclimated to the Queen City.

"It's been a crazy week. My mom is here with me and she hasn't booked a flight home yet," Pue explained on the SportsCage. "My dad is with my brother in Drumheller right now because he's going to be playing in Alberta. I think it hasn't hit my mom yet because she's here with me right now, but I'm sure once she leaves, it'll be something."

Pue is from Langley, B.C. and was selected with the third overall pick in the 2025 WHL Prospects Draft by the Pats. This year, alongside his fellow rookie teammate Maddox Schultz, he will be limited to playing 34 games due to the Western Canadian Development Model as both are 15 years old.

"I think that's going to be good, so next year we can jump right into it in our 16-year-old year, Maddox and I," Pue said. "It's going to be tough jumping from U18 all the way up to the WHL. It's a tough transition, so it's going to be different, but I think it's going to be a big development year, getting ready for our 16-year-old year."

Pue and Schultz are good friends and there's a friendly competition between them.

"We love each other and we'll always bicker back and forth at each other," Pue said.

Besides the 34 WHL games, Pue will also be playing for the Regina Pat Canadians who were national champions last year. In Pue's career, he has never had the opportunity to play in the Circle K tournament and hopes to do so with the Pat Canadians.

"I think it's one of the most elite tournaments you can go to in your U18 career," Pue explained. "It's a top-notch tournament, so it'd be pretty cool to go give it a run this year."

A bucket list moment for Pue that he can check off is fans getting his Pats jersey.

"It's pretty cool to think about," Pue detailed. "You always dream of being in the NHL and people wearing the jerseys, so it's pretty cool to hear and see."
