Now that the dust has settled from the Canadian Football League’s Draft, attention can shift from the boardroom to the football field.

We’re less than a week away from rookie camps opening around the CFL.

In 2024, Saskatchewan Roughriders receiver Dhel Duncan-Busby transformed from draft pick to starter, and he told the SportsCage about his CFL initiation…

“I mean, not like a welcome to the CFL moment as in, oh, like I got hit. That's usually where a lot of people go with. For me, it was my first snap being out there. I was terrified.  I hadn't played football in so long. It was right after one of our guys got hurt, and I finally got my call. I went out there, I was kind of shaking on the line, and then I finally got my first catch. I pointed for a first down. It was not a first down. It was kind of a bad look.”

Duncan-Busby added, “ That was the Montreal game. So, I felt like that was my, you know what, like I'm actually here, like I'm doing this, and I'm making my dream of playing professional football come true.”
