PREECEVILLE — Preeceville School students who will advance to provincial from the East Central Athletic Association District after a meet on May 27-28 in Yorkton were Amber Spray, Camryn Nelson, Hudsyn Maier and Maggie Bartel.
Sturgis Composite School students who also advanced were, Ripley Pristie, Deagan Anaka, and Layla Jaeb.
Results as recorded by officials were as follows.
Junior girls, Preeceville athletes, Maggie Bartel, second place in 400m., third in 800 m., second in shot put, first in 80m hurdles; Amber Spray, first in shotput, discus and javelin; Camryn Nelson, senior girls, first in shotput, second in discus and third in javelin; Hailey Spray, peewee, first in shotput and discus.
In the boys category, Preeceville athletes, intermediate, Blake Descalchuk won second in triple jump, fifth in shotput and fourth in discus; junior boys, Hudsyn Maier placed first in the 800m, 1500m, and the 3000 m; Carter Halkyard placed fourth in high jump.
In the bantam category, Levi Maier placed second in the 1500m, the 3000m and first in discus.
Sturgis athletes, Deagan Anaka placed second in javelin in the junior category; Kobe Johnson placed fourth in the Tetrathlon 100m, 800m, second in long jump, third in shotput. Layla Jaeb from Sturgis won second in the 80m hurdles in the junior category. Girls, intermediate, Sturgis athletes, Rylee Coleman placed fifth in 800 m.; Ripley Pristie, 80 m. hurdles, and high jump, third.
