Mike Triolo had the hot stick early as the Saskatchewan Rush grounded out a 12-8 road win over the San Diego Seals.
The six-foot-eight forward scored three goals on his first three shots of the game, locking in a natural hat trick in the opening five minutes. Zach Manns would add another in the quarter, putting the Rush up 4-0.
In the second, Austin Shanks, Levi Anderson, and Robert Church all found twine, and Thomas Kiazyk made 19 straight saves as the Rush led 7-0 at halftime.
San Diego came out flying in the third quarter, but the Rush offence responded with goals from Manns and Keenan, sending the game into the fourth up 9-5.
Anderson, Triolo and Church all buried goals in the fourth quarter, propelling Saskatchewan to a 12-8 win in hostile territory.
20-year-old netminder Thomas Kiazyk finished his second career start, making 36 saves for his second straight win. Robert Church and Zach Manns had two goals and six assists to lead the way up front.
Next, the Rush take on Dane Dobbie and the Calgary Roughnecks on Friday, February 14th.
The Saskatchewan Rush will be back on Co-op Field in a couple of weeks when the Rochester Knighthawks come to SaskTel Centre on Saturday, February 15th, at 7:00 PM.
