House league teams from Estevan Youth Softball have been wrapping up their respective seasons.

In the Borderline League, which has teams from the southeast, the U19 Estevan Storm, who claimed the eighth and final playoff spot during the regular season, defeated the first-place Carlyle Cardinals in the first round of the playoffs, and then made it to the final before losing to the host Carnduff Astros June 17.

In the U15 age group, the Estevan Storm, who finished first in the Borderline League during the regular season, faced the second-seeded Estevan Thunder in the final in Weyburn on June 14, with the Thunder winning 13-12, scoring the winning run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning.

In the league's U13 circuit, the Estevan Thunder and Estevan Lightning played against each other in the C semi-final in Oxbow on June 15. The game was called early and declared a no-contest in a display of sportsmanship after one of the umpires suffered an injury.

In the Highway 39 League with Weyburn, Radville and Milestone, the playoff tournament was hosted by Estevan on June 21 and included five Estevan teams. The Estevan Lightning qualified for the bronze medal game, which was delayed due to rain.

In the U9 division, the four Estevan teams held a mini-tournament in Estevan on June 21 to wrap up the season.

Estevan Youth Softball had a record number of registrants this year with 240 players on 24 house teams. There are also six travelling teams.
