Football: Huskies vs. Dinos

Let's begin with the annual Homecoming game. The Huskies football team hosted the University of Calgary Dinos at Griffiths Stadium. Almost 9,000 spectators were in attendance for a thriller between these two rival schools in the Canada West.

The man that was the star of this game is from Regina, plays in Saskatoon, and couldn't be stopped by his opponents from Calgary. Fourth-year running back Ryker Frank had 224 yards rushing on 34 carries with three touchdowns against the visiting Dinos. The Huskies needed Frank's career-best performance in this one, as it was tied at 34 after four quarters.

Both teams made field goals in their first overtime possessions to tie the game at 37. In the second overtime, the Dinos added another field goal, but the Huskies countered with a touchdown to win 44-40. That improves the Huskies record to 1-2 on the season.

Next game for the Huskies is Friday, September 20 when Saskatchewan takes on the UBC Thunderbirds on the road.
