Yorkton Terriers, Flin Flon Bombers pushed to brink of elimination after Game 3 losses

MUSTANGS 4, TERRIERS 3

Ashton Paul scored the game winner off a rebound with 5:53 left in regulation to lead the Melfort Mustangs to a 4-3 victory over the Yorkton Terriers in Game 3.

Zac Somers, Ashton Hutchinson, and Reilly Kotai also scored for the Mustangs while David Coyle, Jye Zawatsky and Carter Briltz replied for the Terriers. 

Kristian Coombs stopped 17 saves on 20 shots to earn his fifth win of the postseason, while Callum Creig started for the Terriers and was pulled after allowing three goals on seven shots before Ethan Farrow stopped 12 of 13 shots in the loss.

The Terriers will look to keep their season alive hosting Game 4 of their second round series on Wednesday night at the Westland Arena.  You can hear that game with Benny Walchuk on GX94 radio starting with the pregame show at 6:45 PM

BOMBERS 1, RED WINGS 4

The Weyburn Red Wings have pushed the Flin Flon Bombers to the brink of elimination after a 4-1 home victory in Game 3.

Ethan Dekay led the way offensively for the Red Wings with his first career playoff hat-trick while Jaxson Ruthven scored the other. 

Angelo Zol was once again terrific for the home-side stopping 45 of 46 shots.

Leighton Carruthers fifth goal of the playoffs was the lone marker for the Bombers. 

The two teams will meet in Game 4 on Wednesday night at Crescent Point Place.
