The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League has announced its weekly award winners, with players from Yorkton and Melville among those honoured.
Melfort’s Kason Kobelka was named SGEU MVP of the Week after two wins over Battlefords, allowing just two goals on 53 shots with a .962 save percentage. Estevan’s Rylan Williams earned Bourgault Forward of the Week after collecting six points in four games, including an overtime winner in La Ronge.
It was a strong week for the Yorkton Terriers, as Thomas Ries was named SuperU Defenceman of the Week with three points in two wins over Humboldt, while rookie Kale Johns earned SaskMilk Rookie of the Week after scoring three goals in two games.
Melville’s Kale Margolis picked up Canterra Seeds Saskatchewan Player of the Week, recording six points in three games since joining the Millionaires from the WHL’s Tri-City Americans. Nipawin’s Gage Roberts rounded out the winners as SaskTel Goalie of the Week, stopping 65 shots with a 1.50 goals-against average.
