A fresh wave of talent officially joined the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) on Tuesday as the league held its 2025 Draft, welcoming 93 young prospects into its fold.

This year’s format featured two rounds dedicated to 2010-born players, followed by six rounds of selections from the 2009 birth year. All 12 SJHL clubs took part, reinforcing the league’s commitment to developing homegrown talent.

“We’d like to welcome all the players and their families to the SJHL,” said commissioner Kyle McIntyre. “Our message remains clear: Stay Here, Play Here. We had a great day with the draft, and we wish all the players the very best on their hockey journeys.”

The newly rebranded Warman Wolverines were first to make a selection in the 2010 portion, choosing Camryn Aebig—a forward from Rosthern who skated with the Warman Wildcats U15 AA program. They also kicked off the 2009-born draft, selecting Saskatoon native Rafael Ramazanov with the top pick.

The league is set to release its full 2025–26 schedule in the coming weeks, with the regular season expected to begin in late September.
