SJHL RECAP: Flin Flon Bombers and Humboldt Broncos stay perfect, Warman Wolverines earn first ever victory

Humboldt Broncos 4, Melville Millionaires 3 (SO) Logan Flint scored the game-winner in the eighth round of the shootout as the Humboldt Broncos stayed perfect on the season with a 4–3 victory over the Melville Millionaires.

Logan Flint scored the game-winner in the eighth round of the shootout as the Humboldt Broncos stayed perfect on the season with a 4–3 victory over the Melville Millionaires.

Humboldt opened the scoring in the first through Easton Adrian, but Melville responded with three second-period tallies from Brendan Olson, Clayton Gillmore, and Rylan Oatman to take a 3–2 lead into the third.

With 6:12 remaining in regulation, Jacob Strizzi struck for his second of the game and fifth of the year to even things up. After a scoreless overtime, the shootout needed eight rounds before Flint secured the extra point for the Broncos.

Goaltenders stole the spotlight, with Humboldt’s Nick Kotai making 40 saves for his first SJHL win and Melville’s Kael Svenson stopping 40 in the loss. The teams meet again Saturday in Humboldt.


Flin Flon Bombers 4, Nipawin Hawks 1
Nathan Lalumiere netted a natural hat trick to lead the Bombers to a 4–1 road win in Nipawin. Flin Flon remains unbeaten at 3–0.


Weyburn Red Wings 5, Estevan Bruins 4 (OT)
Highway 39 bragging rights went to the Red Wings in a thriller. Roan Burgess had a monster night with three goals and an assist, while Luke DeKay ended it 3:14 into overtime to lift Weyburn past Estevan 5–4.


Warman Wolverines 6, Kindersley Klippers 5 (OT)
The expansion Wolverines celebrated their first-ever franchise win in dramatic fashion. Vincent Palmarin scored the overtime winner as Warman edged Kindersley 6–5. The two teams square off again Saturday in Warman.


Melfort Mustangs 4, La Ronge Ice Wolves 3 (OT)
Zayden Sadlemyer scored all three Mustang goals — completing the hat trick in overtime — as Melfort stormed back from a 3–1 third-period deficit.

For La Ronge, Waylon Gardipy scored twice and David Vitt added a goal and two assists in the loss.
