Between The Lines: Who says Tevaughn Campbell can't go home?

In the immortal words of legendary lyricist Jon Bon Jovi, who says you can't go home? In the words of the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Tevaughn Campbell can.

After completing his collegiate football at the University of Regina, defensive back Tevaughn Campbell was drafted in the third round of the CFL draft by Calgary. In 2016, the Riders acquired Campbell from the Stamps before sending him to Montreal in a trade that brought the green and white quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. After two seasons in Montreal, Campbell would sign with the NFL's New York Jets, eventually joining the practice roster of the LA Chargers, where he would play two seasons before signing with Jacksonville.

This February, Campbell re-signed with the Riders and says that the province has welcomed him back.

“Man, it feels great. It's just like what I tell everyone. I kind of play for that. You know, people are out there looking up to me, just expecting a lot out of me, and I just love to deliver that for them, especially friends, family, you know, the fans out there relentlessly cheering. It's just, it feels great, man. It's just like a, it's a surreal feel.”

Naturally, with Campbell's experience and young players like Nelson Lokombo KerfallaExumé around him, one would think that he has a lot to show them.

“No, man, these guys are, I mean, it's a vet group. These guys, they know what they're doing. They teach me a lot too. It's not just me trying to lead them. They lead me as well.”

Welcome home, Tevaughn Campbell.
