Semi-Final bound: Saskatchewan and host Regina Trappers make their mark at men's National Baseball Championships

Team Saskatchewan secured first place in Pool A with a 12–2 win over British Columbia on Saturday at the Men’s National Baseball Championships in Regina.

The victory sends Saskatchewan straight to Sunday morning’s semi-final at 9:30 AM.

Lucas Geisler led the charge with three hits and two RBIs, including a key single in a five-run third inning. Dylan Smith and Dylan Solie also had three hits apiece as Saskatchewan piled up 17 in total. Starter Joel Bauml struck out eight over six innings for the win.

British Columbia’s Nick Lee went 3-for-3 with two RBIs in the loss.

Meanwhile, the host Regina Trappers squad fell 8–2 to Ontario in their pool play finale to finish with a 3 and 1 record.

Kendall Keller and Tyler Arnold drove in the runs for Saskatchewan, while Ontario’s Nick Manoukarakis collected three hits to pace his team.

Along with Team Saskatchewan’s morning semi-final, the host Regina Trappers will play in the later semi at 12:30 PM against an opponent to be determined following Saturday night’s quarter-finals.
