Game over. Winnipeg 15, Saskatchewan 9

Tommy Stevens back in at QB for Riders. Pass complete to Mimbs to 13 yards to Sask 50. Pass complete to Mimbs for eight yards to Winnipeg 52 with 20 seconds remaining. Stevens runs 11 yards to Winnipeg 41 with 10 seconds remaining. Riders go for last ditch long pass but can't get ball off on sack.

Riders get ball back at own 37.

Incomplete pass and seven yard throw to Adair lead to 21-yard Castillo field goal. 15-9 Winnipeg with 30 seconds remaining.

Chase Artopoeus in at QB for Winnipeg, runs for 10 and passes for 12 to Corcoran on first two plays to get down to Sask 48.Drive continues after ad break timeout, with a five-yard pass to Wallace, 10 yard pass to Corcoran and nine yard pass to Brown putting Winnipeg at Riders 24. 1:07 remaining. Riders take their timeout.

Garrity has an 18-yard field goal and is money this time, 12-9 Winnipeg lead with 3:17 to play. Nine plays, 58 yards.

Sask gets ball at Winnipeg 43, but an 18 yard pass to Duncan-Busby, 15-yard pass to Janneh and 25 yard pass to Runge gets the Riders down to Bombers 12. Pennix rushes for two, incomplete pass to Duncan-Busby ends drive just short of end zone.

Riders defence stiffens with back against goalline, two incomplete passes leads to 18 yard field goal attempt by Castillo. He's good with 6:30 to play in fourth.

Winnipeg drive continues, with 13 yard catch to Mitchell, seven yard catch to Harris and 11 yard pass to Cooley to get down to Riders 10.

Couple of Sask offside calls lead to Winnipeg first down at own 20. Drive continues with screen pass catch by Cooley for 25 yards to Winnipeg 55 -- breaking a tackle by Marion in the process - and Cooley then runs 14 yards to Riders 41.

Kick is low and doesn't make it to the goalposts, but Riders cover well and Winnipeg gets ball at own five.

Anderson has two short runs for six yards total, Brian Garrity attempts 48-yard field goal.

Riders DL Benoit Marion gets to Wilson for the sack and strips the ball, Gubner recovers, Sask ball at the Winnipeg 44 as the third quarter elapses.

Terry Wilson in at QB for Winnipeg, nearly throws interception to Sanford on first pass, but Harris makes catch for first down at Winnipeg 49.

Jack Coan in at QB for Riders but two-and-out sets Winnipeg back up at Bombers 41.

Riders get another two-and-out, get the ball back at own 31 with 3:12 left in third.

Lauther has 26-yard field goal and makes it a 9-6 Winnipeg lead. Nine plays, 56 yards, down to 4:12 in quarter.

Another run by Bertrand-Hudon stuffed, Maier throws to end zone for Mimbs but pass broken up by Bombers' Avery, who loses his helmet on the play but still comes through.

Runs by Bertrand-Hudon and Anderson get Sask a first down at Winnipeg 31, five yard pass to Wiebe extends drive, nine yard pass to Misseri gets Riders down to 18.

Big 25-yard catch by Misseri on corner route to sideline gets Riders to Winnipeg 45 with 8:43 left in 3rd.

Sack by Korte-Moore and short run lead to a Bombers two-and-out. Winnipeg punts, Riders get ball at own 36.

Lauther puts it off the upright, field goal no good, 9-3 Winnipeg with 11:16 to play in third quarter.

Short pass to Winnipeg 31 followed by two incomplete passes sets up Lauther field goal from 39 yards. Mullinder points out the Bombers' blitz is giving Saskatchewan some issues and leading to a few rushed passes by the Riders QBs.

Riders' Bertrand-Hudon runs for 11 yards on first play of second half, 18 yards on second play to get Sask to Winnipeg 47.

Riders Radio analyst Justin Dunk points out Riders returner Drae McRay during halftime show, and for good reason with 109 return yards in first half -- 3-for-22 on punts and 2-for-87 on kickoffs. Also talks about Jaxon Ford and his overall play, with the U of R Rams graduate turning in a solid showing at safety.

Winnipeg first half: Collaros 10-for-13 for 93 yards, Streveler 6-for-9 for 49 yards. Oliveira two carries for 11 yards. Wheatfall 3 catches for 28 yards, Mitchell and White Jr. 3 catches each for 27 yards. 147 yards total offence.

Saskatchewan first half: Harris 3-for-8 passing for 38 yards, Maier 3-for-6 for 24 yards. Ouellette three carries for 26 yards, Johnson and Robustelli with two catches for 30 and 16 yards each. 99 yards total offence.

Two draw plays to Mario Anderson and the first half is in the books.

Another two and out after a short pass to left and short pass middle gives Riders the ball back at own 43 with 28 seconds remaining.

Two incomplete passes -- including a bomb downfield that Tommy Nield had a shot at -- lead to Riders punt, 1st and 10 for Bombers at 35 with 37 seconds to play.

Incomplete pass and a short run set up Castillo for a 41-yard field goal and he makes it, 9-3 after a quick three-play drive with 1:07 left in half.

And the Riders get it right back. Sayles tips the ball at the line, Dalke makes the interception and goes 66 yards to Winnipeg three yard line, Saskatchewan appears in business deep in the red zone, but the play is called back due to defensive pass interference.

Maier pass intercepted by Allen at Winnipeg 44, carried back to Riders 48. Bombers are really high on Allen, figure he'll be the rookie of the year pick for Winnipeg, says Dave Thomas.

Tommy Stevens -- the Riders short-yardage specialist QB -- gets a pair of small gains for a first down after an eight-yard pass to Robustelli.

Riders get a two-and-out next series, Sask ball with 3:21 to play in 2nd quarter.

Jake Maier in at QB for Saskatchewan, completes first pass as a Rider for eight yards to Wiebe. Next play is stuffed by a Bombers blitz, though, and Riders punt to set up Winnipeg at own 35.

Drae McCray has a 51-yard kick-off return to get Riders set up at Winnipeg 53.

Castillo hits the long kick, 6-3 Winnipeg with 7:31 to play in half. Eight plays, 42 yards.

And just as that's pointed out, Sayles comes up with a big tackle for a five-yard loss to Riders 42, setting up 50-yard field goal for Castillo.

Sayles having a bit of trouble with his footing out there and having some issues with coverage, per Mullinder.

Streveler in at QB for Winnipeg, completes three passes to Mitchell, Clercius and White Jr. to get to Winnipeg 53 with 10:31 to play.

Winnipeg scrimmages from own 27 after kickoff.

Lauther is good from 31 yards with 12:57 left in half. Game tied 3-3.

Harris appears to have a pass go incomplete at the line, but Winnipeg scoops the ball and goes to the end zone, causing a bit of confusion. Play is called back as an incomplete pass, Brett Lauther goes for first field goal of season.

A.J. Ouellette has a nice run for 21 yards, including hurdling a Bombers defender, to extend Riders drive. 

Johnson makes a 16 yard catch to Winnipeg 52 to end first quarter.

Saskatchewan defence stiffens at Riders 11 and shuts down drive, Castillo field goal from 19 yards out makes it 3-0 Bombers with 44 seconds remaining in first.

Screen pass to Oliveria gets Bombers into red zone at Riders 18. Luc Mullinder points out that Rougriders defensive front -- made up of mostly rookies -- is having a hard time against the Winnipeg starters as they try and get a feel for in first game of the season.

Pass to Wheatfall for 13 yards and Oliveira run for 11 yards has Winnipeg at Sask 53, two short passes to Mitchell get Bombers down to Riders 32.

Two more incomplete passes -- including one that went off a stumbling Dohnte Meyers -- leads to a Bailey punt, 1st and 10 at Winnipeg 33 with 5:19 to play in first.

Keesean Johnson has 14-yard catch for first Riders first down of the game, 6:35 left in first quarter

Tackle in the backfield and well-defended short pass lead to Winnipeg punt, 1st and 10 at Sask 26

Collaros forced to scramble but gets off pass completion close to midfield.

Jaxon Ford gets first sack of the game, dropping Collaros for a two-yard loss. 2-and 12.

Bombers get a short pass, short run and QB plunge for the first first down of the game.

A run and a pass to the outside, and it's a two-and-out, Bailey Flint has his first-ever punt as a Rider, Bombers 1st and 10 from own 15.

Riders take an offside penalty, 2nd and 15, incomplete pass and punt. Trevor Harris gets his first series

First penalty of the game nullifies a big passing gain by Winnipeg, 2nd and 20

National anthem is completed, kick-off is moments away. Sunny and 21 C as the game is set to begin.
