Offensive lineman Sean McEwen has undergone successful knee surgery to repair a torn ACL.
Roughriders head coach Corey Mace confirmed the injury on Tuesday.
“He ended up dealing with an ACL. It’s unfortunate, but he had a healthy surgery yesterday.”
The Riders signed the Canadian offensive lineman in February. McEwen, an eight-year veteran, had split his time in the Canadian Football League with the Calgary Stampeders and the Toronto Argonauts.
Over that span, the six-foot-two, 295-pound offensive lineman has earned three All-CFL selections and four divisional All-CFL nods. Additionally, McEwen was the Eastern Division nominee for Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman in 2017 and helped the Argonauts win the Grey Cup in 2018.
