REGINA -- With the way things have gone for the Saskatchewan Roughriders on the injury front this season, it would be easy to expect a host of changes from game-to-game, even coming off a bye week.
Fortunately for the Green and White, they’ll finally have some top-to-botttom consistency as they head into their Week 11 match-up on Saturday afternoon against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats at Mosaic Stadium.
The Riders reported no changes to their depth chart Friday morning, marking the first time in the 2025 season that they’ll have the same players playing the same positions in back-to-back games.
As a result, it’ll be the same team from when Saskatchewan turned in their best showing of the season in a 34-6 win over the Montreal Alouettes in Week 9.
That does mean the news isn’t as good as hoped for receiver Shawn Bane Jr., who continues to get close to returning from a knee injury and practiced all week before being ruled out. He remains on the one-game injured list.
Standout return specialist Mario Alford also remains on the one-game injured list with a hip injury and didn’t see action in practice this week, while offensive lineman Daniel Johnson will sit at least one more game as he recovers from a shoulder injury.
It’s the first game since Week 4 against B.C. that Saskatchewan has had the same unit on an offensive line that continues to perform well despite having four players sidelined.
Payton Collins starts at left tackle, Zack Fry at left guard, Logan Ferland at centre, Jacob Brammer at right guard and Jermarcus Hardrick at right tackle.
Defensive backs Marcus Sayles and Rolan Milligan Jr. will be two of the defensive players to watch as they have the task of trying to shut down Hamilton receiver Kenny Lawler, who is second in the CFL with 783 yards receiving heading into Week 11.
As expected, Trevor Harris gets the start at quarterback, with A.J. Ouellette the featured running back.
Saskatchewan is 7-1 and in first place in the West Division and overall in the CFL, Hamilton is 6-3 and in first place in the East Division.
The teams met back in Week 2, with Hamilton putting together a late-game comeback before falling short in a 28-23 Saskatchewan victory.
Teagan Witko, Justin Dunk and Wes Cates have the pre-game show at 10 a.m. on Saturday, with Dave Thomas and Luc Mullinder bringing the game call at 1 p.m. You can listen or watch our thorough coverage on the 620 CKRM Co-operators Rider Broadcast Network.
