Luc Mullinder is here with his three keys to the game. Get the Roughriders Game Day special: $4.95 for a Big Crunch and $7.95 for a Big Crunch combo at participating Saskatchewan KFC locations.
First key: It's pretty easy. You gotta be clean and crisp right now if you're on offense. You gotta get in and out of the huddle. And on defence, you have to get the call signals into the field and then relay them. Again, you want to get your feet under you. You wanna play physical. You have to be clean and crisp. So that's key number one.
Key number two: we have to play fast. Right on both sides. Get defenders to the football. They did a great job putting that on tape last year. It appears to be deeply ingrained in their culture. Just continue to put that on tape, especially in week one so your opponents see it. And the cover units, I think that's one of the bigger things. You gotta play fast on special teams. It's been one of the most consistent pieces of the Saskatchewan Rough Riders for the last few years. It needs to continue today, and they're coached well in that aspect.
And then the third, this is the easiest one. On the offensive line, dominate up front. You got a battering ram of a running back. You got a guy behind that running back who's had a great camp. You just gotta go out and dominate the opponent. You wanna win this in the fourth quarter; you earned the right to do that in the first. Let's go out, dominate the line of scrimmage. Let's play fast. Let's play clean. Let's get a W.”
