Rider Practice

The Saskatchewan Roughriders were back practicing at Mosaic Stadium on Thursday and there were more familiar faces in familiar places.

After missing the Day 1 workout Jameer Thurman was back on the field in his familiar linebacker spot. The former Hamilton Tiger Cat admitted that he is looking forward to facing his former team on Sunday. That in mind, it will also be the first time that Thurman plays against Bo Levi Mitchell who was his teammate in Calgary and Hamilton.

Also, at practice today, the Rider secondary continued to feature a new look. Nelson Lokombo was once again taking reps at safety, while Marcus Sayles was inserted at corner. Additionally, Amari Henderson was back on the field after nursing an Achillies hurt for the last couple of weeks.

Not on the field, however, was Jermarcus Hardrick. The Right Tackle was off again today nursing a sore ankle. Head Coach Corey Mace is confident that his injury won’t keep him out of the game on Sunday.

The full Rider injury report is as follows:

Rodney Clemons DB Achilles DNP

Jermarcus Hardrick OL Ankle DNP

Jameer Thurman LB Chest LIMITED

Off the field, four Saskatchewan Roughriders are lighter in the pocketbook after the CFL announced their week 1 supplemental discipline:

Saskatchewan offensive lineman Trevor Reid has been fined for delivering a tourist hit on Edmonton defensive lineman Noah Curtis.

Saskatchewan offensive lineman Logan Ferland has been fined for committing a non-football act – striking Edmonton defensive back Leon O’Neal Jr.

Saskatchewan defensive back C.J. Reavis has been fined for violating the CFL Code of Conduct.

Saskatchewan defensive back Rolan Milligan Jr. has been fined for delivering a high hit on Edmonton receiver Kurleigh Gittens Jr.

The Riders will practice behind closed doors on Friday before heading to Hamilton on Saturday for Sunday’s match-up against the Tiger-Cats.
