After a 5-for-5 field goal performance by Brett Lauther against the Toronto Argonauts on Friday night, the Riders released Canadian kicker Campbell Fair on Sunday morning.

The 25-year-old native of Oakville, Ontario, originally signed with the Roughriders on August 20.

Fair was initially drafted by the Calgary Stampeders in 2023 and attended the Edmonton Elks training camp in 2025 before being released and signed by Saskatchewan.

The University of Ottawa product made one start for the Riders, on October 3 in the nation’s capital. Fair went 0/2 in convert attempts and had four kickoffs averaging 64.8 yards per kick.

The Riders still have veteran kickers Brett Lauther and Michael Hughes on the roster.

The Roughriders are back in action on Friday night when they head to Winnipeg to take on the Blue Bombers. You can hear the game on the 620 CKRM Cooperators Rider Broadcast Network, starting with the Countdown to Kickoff at 3 p.m.
