PREECEVILLE — The Preeceville Panther football program held its annual fall conditioning camp from Aug. 25 to 29, focusing on players’ performances and preparation for the season.

Coaching staff includes Jeremy Mattison, head coach; James Dodge, offence coordinator; Patrick Livingstone and Rodney Serhan, offence coordinators; Cary Franklin, defence assistant; and Mark Meadows, defence.

"There were 12-14 senior players that came out for practices," said James Dodge. "The team is a young team with a good mixture of returning and rookie players. Our focus is on getting players back on the field, having fun, and learning the fundamentals of football. It will be a challenging season with a lot of tough competitors. I firmly believe that with the team's great attitude and dedication, we will be able to have a successful season."

Junior players were also invited to join the camp for practices.

The camp focused on conditioning, timing, and working on offence, with the coaching staff revamping the playbooks to fit the team. Players were put through a rigorous set of practices to get back in shape and understand expectations as individual and team players.

Preeceville has joined the six-man 2A Conference, which includes four teams: Preeceville, Ituna, Wynyard, and Lanigan.

Preeceville’s first game is at home against Ituna on Sept. 12. The next home game is against Wynyard on Sept. 19, followed by away games against Lanigan on Sept. 26, Ituna on Oct. 3, and Wynyard on Oct. 9. The final week of regular play features a home game against Lanigan on Oct. 16, with playoffs to follow.
