ESTEVAN — The Estevan Comprehensive School Elecs senior girls’ volleyball team was the class of their home tournament Oct. 17 and 18.

ECS defeated A.E. Peacock Collegiate from Moose Jaw 2-0 (25-23, 25-10) in the tournament’s final. The Elecs advanced to the final by defeating Regina’s Dr. Martin LeBoldus High School in the semifinal, also by a 2-0 score (25-14, 25-22).

The senior boys also had a great weekend, taking a tournament at Regina Winston Knoll Collegiate.

Both Elecs teams will be back on the court Oct. 22 when they host the Weyburn Comprehensive School Eagles in the second half of the Co-op Challenge volleyball series. The two schools’ senior boys’ teams will square off at 5:30 p.m. and the senior girls play at 7:30 p.m. ECS won all six sets played in Weyburn Oct. 8, and the Elecs need to win just one more set to retain the Co-op Challenge trophy.
