The Saskatchewan Rattlers fell short of a sweep Wednesday night, as the Edmonton Stingers closed on a 10-3 run in Target Score Time to claim a 100-94 win at SaskTel Centre.

After narrowly losing to the Rattlers 90-88 on Sunday in Edmonton, the Stingers bounced back behind 24 points from Sean East II — 18 of which came in a dominant second half, including the game-winner.

Despite being eliminated from playoff contention weeks ago, the Rattlers battled hard. Jordan Bowden and Tevian Jones led the way again with a combined 51 points, keeping Saskatchewan in it until the final minutes.

“Edmonton put a lot of bodies their way and they handled it well,” Saskatchewan head coach Eric Magdanz said. “They found spaces in order to get their shot up. They attacked the rim, they got some open threes, and they did a good job moving the ball to other people as well.”

Saskatchewan led 57-51 at halftime and maintained a narrow advantage for much of the second half, but Edmonton surged late. Jaden Bediako briefly gave the Rattlers a one-point lead heading into Target Score Time, but the Stingers responded with eight straight points. A late three from Devonté Bandoo cut the deficit, but East II sealed it with a mid-range jumper.

With the win, Edmonton took the season series 2-1.

Up next, Saskatchewan visits Calgary and Edmonton hosts Niagara on Friday as all 10 CEBL teams hit the court.
