Chloe Wills and Corey Bailey win Golf Saskatchewan Championships in Humboldt

A pair of southwest Saskatchewan golfers are Saskatchewan champions.

Chloe Wills of Kyle, Sask., is the 2025 Amateur Women’s champion, edging 2021 champion Ella Kozak of Yorkton by one shot Thursday at the Humboldt Golf Club (HGC).

Wills, 17, finished 1-under par over 54 holes to claim her first amateur win with an under-15 and under-17 championship.

Behind Kozak was Winnipeg’s Charmaine Hayden, who finished 10-over par to claim third place, but the Breezy Bend Golf Club member won the Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship.

Holly Knudsen of Shamrock, SK, was second, and Carla Odnokon of Saskatoon rounded out the podium in the 25-and-over division.

Corey Bailey of Swift Current is the 2025 Saskatchewan Men’s Mid-Amateur champion after going toe-to-toe with Humboldt’s Paul Raycroft over 54 holes at the HGC.

Bailey opened with an 8-under 64 on day one, Raycroft answered with the same number in the second round, but Bailey’s 2-over par 74 on Thursday in the final round was enough to beat the hometown player by two shots.

Mitch Matichuk of Regina placed third in the mid-amateur (25+) event at 3-under par.

The Saskatchewan Amateur Men’s Championship will conclude on Friday. Twenty-two players survived the cut line. Tee times will begin at 7 a.m., with the final group teeing off at 8:10 a.m.

Regina’s Luke Cote shot the day's round, 7-under 65, to jump into the lead over Bailey. Carter Bell of Saskatoon sits in third and plays in the final group.
