Saskatchewan Roughriders' head coach Corey Mace provided an update on Canadian receiver Kian Schaffer-Baker on Thursday.

"The return is pretty close, but I don't want to put a timeline on it," Mace said. "Like I said earlier in the season, we definitely expected him back before season's end and we're getting closer."

The last time the 27-year-old played was in Week 1 when the Riders defeated the Ottawa Redblacks 31-26 and Schaffer-Baker left in the first quarter with a foot injury.

Saskatchewan takes on Winnipeg at home for the 60th Labour Day Classic. Teagan Witko, Justin Dunk, and Wes Cates have the pre-game at 2 p.m. Dave Thomas and Luc Mullinder have the call at 5 p.m. Listen or watch our comprehensive coverage at the 620 CKRM Co-operators Rider Broadcast Network.
