1. Melfort Mustangs (40-7-0-1)  -

The injury-riddled Mustangs found a way and earned five out of a possible six points during their three game streak. Something they might want to clean up is their goals against which has creeped a little higher as of late.

Next Up:  Friday vs. Flin Flon / Saturday @ Flin Flon

Top Scorer: Reilly Kotai - 61 points in 45 games


2. Flin Flon Bombers (34-11-3-1)  -

A split of the two games in the Parkland region didn’t help the Bombers try and gain some ground on the top-seeded Mustangs who’ll they meet in a heavyweight home and home this weekend.

Up next: Friday @ Melfort / Saturday vs. Melfort

3. Weyburn Red Wings (30-16-2) -

The Red Wings let a chance to move back atop of the division standings slip away on Friday in a wild-one against the Nipawin Hawks and a rare off-night from starter Angelo Zol.  Two big matchups this week against teams right on their heels.

4.  Melville Millionaires (27-19-2-1) +1

The Millionaires wrapped up their six game home-stand with two more wins over the weekend including one over the second-place Bombers to improve their winning streak to nine. What’s been the key to their success? Good goaltending, improved special teams and finding ways to score goals in all ways.

This Week:  Friday @ Weyburn / Saturday vs. Humboldt

Top Scorer: Jadon Iyogun - 44 points in 45 games


5. Yorkton Terriers (31-18-1)  -1

The Terriers capped off a stretch of six games in eight days with a two home-ice loss over the weekend. The Terriers play only two games in their next 12 games, which will be a good refresh and recoup for a team looking to get healthier.

6. Humboldt Broncos  (25-20-2-2) -

The Broncos showed they can play with the top dogs in the league with two very tight and entertaining matchups with the league-leading Mustangs over the weekend.  It’s a big week for the Broncos with three games in four nights, all against playoff teams.

7. Battlefords North Stars (25-20-3-2) -

After a wild one against Humboldt to start the week, Justen Maric helped the North Stars rebound, stopping 76 out of 80 shots in two narrow wins over the rivals Kindersley to keep pace in the SJHL standings.  Nikita Ivashchenko is currently on an impressive 11 game goal streak.

8.  Kindersley Klippers (22-23-2-2) -

The Klippers are currently on a four game skid with one out of a possible six points in their last four games and their lead for the final playoff spot has evaporated to now four games on La Ronge. Guess what? Two teams will meet twice on the weekend.

9. La Ronge Ice Wolves (20-25-2-2) -

A pretty solid 2 and 2 road down south has the Ice wolves right back in the thick of the things in the race for the final playoff spot with no room for error going forward. Special teams and goaltending have been a big part of their success.

Up Next: Wednesday @ Nipawin / Saturday & Sunday vs. Kindersley

Top Scorer:  Hudson Cameron - 44 points in 47 games


10.  Nipawin Hawks  (14-30-3-3)  +1

The Hawks are playing their best hockey of the season, capped off with a three game southern sweep of Weyburn, Estevan and Notre Dame for the first time since 2017. 19 goals over the weekend is also impressive for a young team that’s finding ways to win.

This Week:  Wednesday vs. La Ronge / Friday vs. Kindersley

Top Scorer:  Eric Hoiness - 40 points in 50 games


11.  Estevan Bruins (15-27-5-1) -1

It was a tale of two games for the Bruins as after a convincing nine goal performance over Notre Dame, they followed that up allowing seven in a loss to the red-hot Hawks.  The Bruins will look to continue to try and play spoiler in their last eight games.

Up Next:  Thursday @ Notre Dame / Friday & Saturday @ Battlefords

12. Notre Dame Hounds (11-34-2-2) -

Three more losses this past week by a combined score of 21-4 has the Hounds losing streak reach 14 games as young players continue their audition for the pending move to Warman under Coach Pilkington.
