The Yorkton Terriers return to the ice this weekend to open 2025–26 Fall Camp, and Head Coach/GM Emery Olauson says excitement is high.

“It’s always bittersweet when summer ends,” Olauson said on the season’s first Terriers Coaches Show. “But we had a strong offseason and now it’s exciting to see these players hit the ice.”

Camp is expected to feature strong competition at every position, with new recruits joining a solid core of returnees. In goal, veteran Callum Craig is back but will be pushed by newcomers Alexandro Montoya and Connor Nicholson.

The defense group boasts depth, highlighted by local standout Mikael Budz, Stars Academy captain Will Sumner, and Colorado Rampage captain Zach Hertz, joining returnees Thomas Ries, Riley Cormier, Quinn Johnston, and Thierry Laliberte.

Up front, with top scorers Jaron Desnoyers and David Coyle graduated, Olauson says the Terriers will look to returning forwards like Jye Zawatzkyi, William Leonard, Vinay Junek, Tylan Henrikson, Evan Auld, and Quinn Tavender, along with several promising recruits, to carry the offense.

“There’s a lot of offense to replace, but every player starts at zero,” Olauson said. “We’re confident this group can rise to the challenge.”

Camp runs through the weekend, with the Terriers hosting Waywayseecappo of the MJHL in their first preseason game Sunday at 6 p.m. at Westland Arena.
