YORKTON TERRIERS 2, NIPAWIN HAWKS 1 (OT)

Thomas Ries played the hero for the Yorkton Terriers, scoring just 59 seconds into overtime to lift his team to a 2–1 victory over the Nipawin Hawks on Tuesday night — their second straight win.

The Terriers opened the scoring in the first period when Jye Zawatsky netted his fifth of the season. Nipawin pulled even early in the second as Mason Karakochuk tied the game 1–1, and from there both teams locked into a defensive battle.

After a scoreless third period, Ries sealed the win in extra time to give Yorkton its seventh win of the year.

Goaltender Callum Creig was sharp once again, turning aside 38 shots for the victory, while Hawks netminder Gage Roberts matched him with 38 saves in the overtime loss.

The Terriers return home Friday night to face the Battlefords North Stars in their final home game for three weeks. Nipawin will try to snap its two-game skid when they host the Melville Millionaires the same night.

KINDERSLEY KLIPPERS 3, WARMAN WOLVERINES 2 (SO)

The Kindersley Klippers came out on top in their annual School Kids Game, edging the Warman Wolverines 3–2 in a shootout Tuesday afternoon at Inter Pipeline Arena in front of a packed house of students.

Goaltender Brett O’Halloran was the story, stopping 56 of 58 shots in regulation and overtime, then turning aside all three shootout attempts to backstop the Klippers to victory.

Brock Evans scored both goals in regulation for Kindersley and added the decisive marker in the shootout. Kane Kennedy had both goals for the Wolverines, while Griffin Wright made 36 saves in the loss.
