The Estevan Bruins have officially appointed Drew Kocur as their full-time Head Coach and General Manager, removing the interim tag he carried since January 2025.

Club President Riley Tetreault stated, "Through Drew’s time with the organization, his passion and care for the Bruins’ franchise, its players, and the community has always been evident. Drew’s vision for the program is ambitious, but we feel it is a great foundation to begin on as we move into this next chapter"

He stepped into the interim head coach and GM roles following the departure of Jason Tatarnic, who had been with the team since mid-2020 .

“To be named the Head Coach/GM is truly an honor and I am very grateful for the opportunity to be the club’s next leader,” Kocur said. “It is something that I have worked hard for, and to be able to do so in the community of Estevan is truly something special.

Kocur initially joined the Bruins in the spring of 2023 as an assistant coach and director of sales.

Before his tenure with the Bruins, Kocur led the Pilot Butte Storm to a Junior B Provincial Championship in the 2022–23 season, earning Coach of the Year honors in the Prairie Junior Hockey League (PJHL).
