The Western Women’s Canadian Football League’s Regina Riot have teamed up with Canadian Blood Services and Ovarian Cancer Canada for their annual Teal Game.
Sunday’s game against the Saskatoon Valkyries will mark the 10th year of the collaboration between the three organizations.
Durion the Riot’s bye-week, the team participated in their second blood donor drive, with 19 players stepping up to donate blood. This initiative reflects the team’s commitment to community impact, health, and support for those in need.
In recognition of the Teal Game and the Riot's dedication, Canadian Blood Services generously donated teal athletic tape, allowing players to wear the signature colour of ovarian cancer awareness as they take the field.
“This game means so much more than football,” said Ashley Biskey, President of Regina Riot. “It’s about honouring those affected by ovarian cancer and giving back to the community that always shows up for us.”
Kick-off Sunday is at 1 p.m. at Leibel Field.
