The Prairie Conference Football rivalry between Regina and Saskatoon will be renewed Saturday night as the 3-0 Thunder host the 2-1 Hilltops. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Mosaic Stadium.

Thunder head coach Scott MacAulay says his team is excited for the matchup.

“This is my favourite home game of the season because it’s always filled with passion and intensity. This is widely considered the most heated rivalry in junior football. We'll be ready with first place and provincial bragging rights on the line.”

In Week 3, the Hilltops defeated the Winnipeg Rifles 42-15. Hilltops running back David Collins ran all over the visiting Winnipeg Rifles, carrying the ball 33 times for 262 yards and two touchdowns. Ryan Valentino was a special teams demon for Saskatoon, setting a CJFL record with five solo special teams tackles against the Rifles.

Regina Youth Flag Football League players and coaches will add to the atmosphere. They will be admitted to the game for free if they wear their team jerseys. The Thunder have over 30 players who began their football journey in Regina’s flag football system.
