Saskatchewan Roughriders' head coach Corey Mace knows quarterback Trevor Harris can contend for the CFL's Most Outstanding Player award this year.

"Absolutely. Watch the body of work. It's unbelievable to watch this guy in practice. If we're giving new looks, how fast he can diagnose those and what might be new for even myself. I'm like: 'Hey, Trevor's maybe seen it before," Mace said.

"There's not much that happens from the defence's perspective that Trevor can't diagnose and do it quickly. Certainly with the weapons that we have around him, I think it bodes well for him to have an outstanding season. I would never be shocked if he's in that conversation."

TSN recently unviled their top 50 players in the CFL list, Harris cracked the top 30 slotted at 24, which was better than in 2024 where he was 33. Last year, the 39-year-old suited up 12 games for the Green and White, he threw for 3,264 yards with 20 touchdowns and nine interceptions. Out of all the quarterbacks in the CFL, Harris ranked second in completion percentage at 72.4 and led the league with a 108.4 QB rating.

"I couldn't care less. I want this to be the MOT: most outstanding team this year. We're all tied for zero yards at this point. We'll see how it sorts out." Harris said. "I know it would be cool because, shoot, not very many people get to say that. I think it looks like consistently high-level play. I feel like I'm capable of playing at a high level every week because I have protection, I have weapons, I have a great system, I have a great play-caller -- there's no excuse."

Harris was sporting a 1-0 t-shirt he made for teammates and his bench boss.

"It's a mindset to me: 1-0 every week, no matter what," Harris explained. "It's a mindset of more than just this week, it's 1-0 today. Have a great day today. Mace said that a lot last year, I was like: 'I'm going to make a t-shirt.' I made him one, too."
