It’s the Regina Red Sox report, a presentation of Unifor 594, energy workers putting the care in career since 1942. Safety is our Business.

It was a week of wins both on and off the field for the Regina Red Sox, who went 3- 2.

One game in Swift Current was postponed due to smoke. They'll make that up at the start of July.

It was a packed house at Currie Field on Wednesday evening as former Indian Head Rockets players, Willie Reed and Nat Bates, were honoured on field level before the game as the team celebrated the 75th anniversary of that club.

On Friday, a major announcement was made that will greatly impact the future of the Red Sox. Queen City Sports and Entertainment, the same group that owns the Regina Pats, will acquire the team after this season.

Shaun Semple, Owner, Queen City Sports and Entertainment

“Just like we’ve done for the Regina Pats, our family is committed to doing our part to invest in our community and the Red Sox and a new stadium. We believe in this city, we believe in our teams, but most importantly, we believe in the people of Regina.”

The transaction is expected to go through on October 1st, pending league approval.

Wednesday, the Sox take the short trip to Moose Jaw to face the Miller Express before kicking off a 4-game homestand as they welcome the league's newest team, the Energy City Cactus Rats, then the Sylvan Lake Gulls this weekend.
