The Saskatchewan Roughriders returned to the Mosaic Stadium with a familiar face on the field. The team re-signed punter Joe Couch before the workout.

Couch will join Bailey Flint to compete for the punting job. Flint punted the ball five times for an average of 40.6 yards in his debut with the Green and White in Saturday’s preseason game in Winnipeg.

Couch spent the 2024 season on the practice roster with the Riders.

Prior to joining the Riders, the Australian spent three years at Ouachita Baptist University, playing in 29 games as a Tiger. Over that time, he punted 76 times, earning 3,397 yards and a 44.7-yard average. The Australian landed 30 punts inside the 20-yard line and sent 26 punts 50+ yards, including a career-long 63 yards.

Additionally, the Riders added American offensive lineman Jack Sherwin.

The six-foot-three, 298-pound lineman spent six seasons at Western Michigan, suiting up for 47 games as a Bronco. As a senior, he played in 12 games, helping the team’s lead running back rush for 919 yards.

Sherwin has played guard and tackle and started his career as a tight end/special teams player before transitioning to a full-time lineman in 2022.

In a corresponding move, the Riders have released Canadian kicker Brian Garrity.
