The Saskatchewan Roughriders Week 17 defence will be bolstered by defensive lineman Anthony Lanier II and Rolan Milligan Jr. returning. However, the Green and White will be without strong-side linebacker C.J. Reavis when the Riders face Ottawa at Mosaic Stadium on Saturday.
Lanier returns to the lineup after missing the last seven games with a knee injury that he sustained on July 25 in Montreal. The 31-year-old had recorded nine tackles, two sacks and one forced fumble prior to getting hurt.
Milligan is back in the line-up after missing last week’s contest in Calgary. The Roughriders’ leading tackler was home with his family welcoming the birth of his fourth child, Suni. In 13 games, the 30-year-old has recorded 62 tackles and six interceptions.
Reavis didn’t practice with the Riders all week nursing a knee injury. He has 70 tackles, four quarterback sacks, two knockdowns and one fumble recovery in 14 starts with the team this year.
Also of note on this week’s depth chart for the Riders:
- National receiver Ajou Ajou is out with a knee injury and has been placed on the six game injured list.
- National linebacker Zackary Phillion, who rejoined the team on Friday after playing one game in August with the team, is on the roster this week.
- National receiver Colby Hunchak is in the line-up. The three-year Calgary Stampeder was signed by the Riders on Monday.
