YORKTON - The Yorkton Terriers racked up a pair of preseason wins against Dauphin on the weekend.
Saturday the Terriers headed east for a game in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League city. The Kings were ready to defend their home ice and took a 2-0 lead early on goals by Landyn Garton and Pavel Barclay.
The Terriers responded with a goal by Austin Horbachewsky on the powerplay before the teams headed to the dressing rooms after 20-minutes of play.
The visitors found their stride in the middle stanza with three unanswered goals and out shot Dauphin 24–3.

Then it was a pair of powerplay efforts, the first from Dylan Ruff, and the second from Aidan Vallance giving Yorkton a 4–2 lead heading into the third.
In the final frame Trae Petersen added one for the Terriers, while Dauphin’s Shea Chornley kept it close but Yorkton would win 5-3.
Goaltending duties were split for Yorkton between Conner Nicolson and Alex Montoya.
Dauphin used three netminders; Tate Barnaby, Gavin Erickson, and Carter Sigurdson.
The teams were back in action Sunday, this time on Westland Insurance Arena ice in Yorkton.
This time the Terriers took the lead in the first with Owen Roberts scoring the lone marker of the frame.
The middle frame was a busy one goal wise.
Austin Horbachewsky started things with a short-handed effort for Yorkton.
The Kings broke through with a powerplay effort from Kale Pratte.
Horbachewsky was back for his second of the contest before the period was over, before Quinten Fisk added an unassisted marker for Dauphin, leaving the Terriers up 3-2 after 40-minutes.
The third saw the teams trade markers.
Gabrielle Courchesne scored early for Yorkton, and Kale Pratte added a later powerplay marker for Dauphin to round out scoring and a 4-3 Terrier win.
Montoya was in net for the entire contest for Yorkton.
Dauphin again used three goalies; Austin Seibel, Bryson Yaschyshyn and Piet Mireau.
The Terriers wrap up preseason with a home-and-home set with Melville. The teams are set to play in the Millionaires’ barn Friday and then in Yorkton Saturday.
