One game remains before 6-man conferences begin

The last league games will be played later this week in the 1A and 2A conferences.

UNITY — High school football teams were back on the gridiron before the weekend, as only one regular-season game remains before conferences.

Unity welcomed Eatonia on Oct. 2, but both teams had a tough time getting any points on the board in the first quarter. With a timeout called by Unity coaches in the second quarter, whatever was said on the sidelines lit a fire under the boys as they shortly landed their first touchdown. Eatonia finally scored in the third quarter, but the lead the Warriors had was too far out of reach for the Spartans. The Warriors remain undefeated with a 54-14 win.

In the 1A conference, the Kerrobert Rebels travelled to nearby Plenty, where the Wildcats were unable to use their hometown advantage. Rebels took home the win, 59-36. The Macklin Sabres also hosted the Biggar Blazers under the lights on Oct. 3 for their pink game. However, the green and gold Blazers were able to hold off the Sabres for the 26-12 win.

Teams are gearing up for the final week of league play, with Macklin travelling to Kerrobert and Unity will be in Rosetown on Oct. 10, while Plenty will be visiting Biggar and Eatonia will host Maple Creek on Oct. 9.
