NIPAWIN — With the 2025–26 Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League season about to begin, the Nipawin Hawks are preparing to hit the ice with a fast-paced style of play and a renewed commitment to community engagement.

“We are looking forward to getting started and building off the end of our season last year,” the Hawks’ coaching staff said. “We have many returning players this season and are ready to see what we are about. We’re going to be a fast team that competes hard each night.”

The Hawks have also invested in their facilities, giving the dressing room a facelift and adding a small gym to support players’ physical and mental health. “We’re always working to make sure our players have the best space possible,” the team said.

Beyond the rink, fans can expect to see the Hawks active in the community.

“We believe in backing the town that backs us,” said the team, noting increased efforts to strengthen fan engagement throughout Nipawin.

Tegan LeComte, director of marketing told SaskToday, “Hawks fans also have several events to look forward to this season. On October 24 and 25, the team will host an NHL Alumni vs. Hawks Alumni fundraiser, a unique showcase aimed at drawing fans from across the province. Tickets are available at showpass. The club’s Annual Radio Auction will return in February 2026.”

The Hawks’ home opener is set for Sept. 26 against the Flin Flon Bombers. A full schedule is available on the team’s website
