ESTEVAN — The first round of play is complete at the FrameTech Classic at the TS&M Woodlawn Golf Course.
Carson Harcourt shot a 5-under-par 67 to take the lead in the men's division, one shot ahead of Shawn McNall. Landon Emberley and Nolan Rohatyn are tied for third at 69.
Harcourt finished his round with six birdies and one bogey.
Paige Wheeler, who is seeking her fourth straight women's division title, shot an 82 in the opening round and has a three-stroke lead over Bernadette Wright. Rebecca Fedyk is third after shooting an 89.
Ron Swan shot a 3-under-par 69 to take a three-stroke lead over Rick Hallberg, who has won the senior men's division the past four years. Clark McClelland is third at 76.
The second round will be Aug. 3 and it will be followed by the Dave Price Memorial Horse Race, which starts at 3 p.m. The horse race is a nine-hole elimination competition involving the 12 golfers from the championship flight; it typically attracts hundreds of spectators.
The final round is slated for Aug. 4.
The tournament has 80 golfers in the men's division, 14 in the women's division and 30 in the senior men's competition.
