ESTEVAN — The Estevan U13 AAA Brewers were placed in third out of 16 teams from across the province at the Baseball Saskatchewan Tier 1 provincials in Saskatoon during the Saskatchewan Day long weekend.
The team scored six times in the bottom of the seventh and final inning to win their first game 14-13 against the Regina Athletics on Aug. 1. The following day, they won 19-9 against the Regina White Sox, which set up a showdown against the White Butte Broncos that night for first in the pool. The Brewers won 9-8, thanks to three runs in the bottom of the seventh.
The top team from each of the four pools advanced to the semifinal round Aug. 3. The Brewers faced the Moose Jaw Canucks, falling 13-3. Moose Jaw went on to win provincials.

The Southeast U15 AAA Twins were in Regina for the Tier 2 provincial/Saskatchewan Premier Baseball League playoff tournament during the long weekend.
The five teams entered played a round robin. The Twins opened the showdown with an 11-10 loss to the Swift Current 57s on Aug. 1. Then they lost 8-7 to the Yorkton Cardinals and 13-1 to the East Central Dodgers on Aug. 2.
They wrapped up the season Aug. 3 with an 11-1 loss to the Regina Wolfpack.
